Sharing for info, as people may not be aware (I only came across this by chance)
RGS High Wycombe is introducing a priority area to its catchment from September 2025:
- Admission policy: https://www.rgshw.com/_site/data/files/ ... 1823A7.pdf
- New Catchment map: https://www.rgshw.com/_site/data/files/ ... 3159AF.pdf
This comes under Over-subscription criterion 5 in the policy:
" 5. Boys living in the catchment area of the school from 1 September of the year preceding entry to Year 7 in September until they join the school the following September. If the School is oversubscribed within this rule, then priority will be given to boys in Priority Area A, then Priority Area B in each case using distance order to prioritise."
To me, this suggests that those living in the Cressex area of Priority Area B are much more likely to secure a place than those in the Prestwood or Gerrards Cross areas, on the basis of distance to the school (obviously depending on how many boys are applying in each of those areas).
To be clear, I'm not disagreeing with this change! I just thought I would flag it as it is a change to the admissions policy that people may not know about.
(oh and sixth form is going Co-ed from September 2025 also)
