very interesting! I honestly thought that there would be more demand for the Sutton Coldfield Grammars and that the scores would go up a lot / people would travel ++ and they would have to introduce catchment areas too. There has been a slight increase but not as much as it could have done.
Interesting that the perceived hierarchy persists - I was brought up in Solihull and the grammar schools became comprehensive in 1974 - the pre-existing GS were still much more popular and this was reflected in the house prices .. which led to good results ... which led to more demand. I wonder if this has changed over time?
