Hello experienced parents,
A question about Latymer's Music places please.
I saw in an old mumsnet post and also heard from DS's friend's mum that for music place applicants who pass 1st round academic (Maths and VR) test and scoring in top 700, some may not be called in for an audition if they have already passed certain graded music exam (e.g. Grade 8 distinction from ABRSM/Trinity) and they will automatically get a music place. Is that true?
Reading Latymer's admission document, I only saw that in a scenario a child has academic ranking (from Round 1 & 2 test marks combined) high enough, the child will not need a music place and will get in on academic merit. I would love to hear more about Latymer music places, particularly if it's true that it is possible for kids to get music place without the need to audition (providing they get Grade 8 distinctions from graded music exams)?
Thanks!
