Hello irnbrulou, I'm facing a similar dilemma to yours. My son struggles with social interactions, particularly with girls. He's quite clumsy and has even experienced bullying from girls in his class. However, he gets along well with boys. I'm considering STRS for him, but I'm torn. Since he qualified in the top 150, I worry that if I don't choose Pate's and he ends up unhappy at STRS, I'll regret my decision. Sign
My son is Year 10 at Tommies and is loving it. He was also 150 Pates.
Tommies is not just for sporty boys and they have a range of clubs such as Warhammer and Debating. He was very proud when his debate team beat Pates (twice!). Wasn’t impressed to hear the Pates audience boo’d them when they won.
They also have a different range of GCSE options such as Politics and Economics.
He is doing really well academically and has met a really great group of friends. He has been on some brilliant school trips too.
If I could send my daughter this year I would!!
However I am still not against Pates and if she had wanted to go there we would support that. She is currently hoping for Denmark road.
We are so lucky that we have a choice of excellent schools I don’t really think there is a bad choice.
