@SH031 my knowledge of the test is a bit out of date, as my DD took the test when it was CEM. However, on the West Midlands Grammar Schools website it states that English/VR count for 50% of the marks (with NVR and maths counting for 25% each) so they do appear to be looking for good comprehension/inference skills and a wide vocabulary.

It doesn't look as though specific question types are revealed, so I would assume that it is a good idea to have general familiarity with a wide range of types of questions for NVR, but hopefully someone else will come along to comment on any specifics, if there is something that I've missed.
