Hi all
As it's agony waiting for the 1st March... wonder if anyone is around for a discussion...
I would be grateful for any input on the above dilemma - if you have any experience of either school, or you made a grammar vs indie choice yourself? My daughter is at a state primary and performed very well at all 11+ exams she sat. It seems she is in the top 100 scores for WCHS (obviously there is no guarantee she will be offered a place) and she's also been offered a place at Bancrofts. She thoroughly enjoyed the interview and exam days at Bancroft's which is why I'm considering it, previously my first choice was WCHS.
I would describe her as an all-rounder - she is confident and talkative, although sensitive, enjoys all sports and art/drama but not fixed on one (as in, I couldn't say she was an Art fanatic above everything else) and she has one parent that is from an Asian ethnic minority background (I have mentioned this as I've noticed alot of comment about diversity at WCHS).
We live near to both schools. We are not bothered about Oxbridge at all. In fact I think she would perform better in an environment that was not hyper-competitive (where you are expected to apply to Oxbridge etc). I've found it hard to compare the results of the two schools as state and indies use different metrics to present their results. Any help here would be greatly welcomed.
If you want to have a chat (not related to the above) maybe talk about your own children!
Best Xx
