Just wondering how people evidence extenuating circumstances/conditions on the day. My child didn't perform as well as we expected in the 11+. Without going into too much detail something happened at the test centre which we believe impacted upon their results (SEN needs which was known amd we had been given certain reasonable adjustments).

When we dropped them off they were in good spirits and fairly ok, but once they were inside something happened to cause them quite high emotional distress (which was masked) and then there was no time to recover from it. We have evidence from school that shows high academic capabilities and we have evidence to back up SEN needs but I don't know how to evidence what occured on the day and why we believe this affected their performance in the test. They had two papers to complete but the during the first one there was a combination of sensory overload, confusion, and social discomfort which made it challenging for them to regulate their emotions. It was only after the break and during the second paper they felt able to focus better.

In contrast they took (and passed) another entrance exam a few days later in an environement that was simply much better organised, calmer atmosphere and clearer instructions.
