We started with talking about it, the advantages and how it can help my son to reach his aims. I let him decide, if he wanted to do it, but I explained that if he did, he would have to work hard.

He reads a lot, loads of different stuff, novels, science etc. I bought a box of words with explanations and we made a game of it.

In maths I had to do some teaching as they had lost a lot of school time during lockdown. We went through test to get used to the type of questions. NVR we just did tests too.

The hardest he found was leaving out difficult questions, and do the next question instead. It was not always easy, and I wanted to give up at times, but we got through it, and it was worth it. DS started at Tommie's last September.

We did about 15-20 minutes a day, and mocks at weekends, say 90 minutes over the whole weekends. I also booked him into two mocks, just for him to get a feeling for the situation.
