11 PLUS APPEALS • Winning an appeal when out of catchment

My child is diagnosed with autism. He achieved way above the AQS (a very high score) however sadly wasn’t offered a position due to being out of catchment.

Does any one know if a child gets way above the AQS but isn’t offered a place what the chances of having a successful appeal is as they need to be in an environment that’s academically focussed, structured and provides routine which a mainstream cannot.

I also feel in line with the equality act, it would prejudice my child for not being offered a position if they fall under the disability act. I feel that the grammar schools have catered for pupil premium children who are out of catchment but not for children who fall under the equality act due to their disability.

I welcome your views. Thank you :)
