HI Everyone
My DD has interviews at Highgate and CLSG. Some parents we know have sent their DCs to tutors for interview preparation but in most cases Is this really necessary? I can understand that some introverted kids might need some help but I would have thought the schools would be experienced at putting all kids at ease? My DD is more extroverted - she is quite confident and out-going albeit a bit shy at first.
I am concerned that a child appearing 'coached' will backfire - surely the child just needs to be themselves ? My attitude is, if the child needs to be coached (as opposed to a bit of practice answering basic questions about themselves) at the interview stage having passed the exams, then that school is probably not for them?
Am I wrong ? Maybe correctly answering the academic questions in the interview is critical and that's why tutoring is still needed ?
Thanks for any feedback
