if he’s 8 , and only in year 3, why are you doing Bond papers already! that is completely unnecessary at this stage: he needs a solid grounding in reading and vocabulary building by reading the books he likes, and talking with you about them: that’s honestly all you need in year 3x
(said kindly: he will get totally sick of 11 plus worl by the time he gets to year 6 and may rebel/stop trying)
If you think he is doing well in Maths then don’t drill him
in if now: he needs a solid ability to do timestables up to 12x12 , if he already does mental maths easily then stand back until year 5. There is a trend for some people to tutor both year 4 and year 5 but if your child needs pushing and pushing to get above the pass mark later , he may not have the natural aptitude/speed for grammar school pace. You won’t do him a favour if you squeeze him in and then he struggles to manage.
So my advice is: pull back! He’s only 8 and there are years to
go yet. Get him some fun and exciting books to read, and buy a Scrabble set and Bananagrams to build spelling and vocabulary in a more fun way.
Books: The 13 storey Treehouse series, Ottoline series (by Chris Ridell), The Famous Five series by Enid Blyton, Harry Potter And the Order Of the Phoenix (and series), Percy Jackson And The Lightning Thief (and series) , A Series Of Unfortunate Events, anything with decent vocabulary that is exciting…
