I have received a unsuccessful decision letter in relation to my recent grammar appeal and the letter states:
The reason for the decision was that the panel agreed with the college that the admissions policy had been applied correctly.
The panel considered the case that you presented, unfortunately the case that you presented did not meet the threshold to uphold the appeal.
There is no reference to any of the points I raised during the appeal and this is the extent of it? Is this correct?
It seems very generic considering I gave a number of reasons why my child needed a place at that particular school, showed evidence of their aligned interests and how a refused would be detrimental. I am considering making a complaint, do you think I have a case?
I contacted the chair and they responded advising that the child was in a lower oversubscription category and my points didn’t meet the threshold, this doesn’t seem right.
To clarify, my child passed the 11 plus and we were appealing oversubscription and prejudice to the child.
