Either the chairperson or (more likely) the clerk should have advised as to in what format you will receive your decision (in Essex, it is by letter, sent as an email attachment). If you can't remember them saying anything at the hearing, check the notification letter / email you received re your hearing date(s).Has anybody had a result from their appeal yet? If so, was it an email (I'm assuming so in this day and age)
(Eta for any other stray Essex bods reading this, that's appeals run by the Statutory Appeals section at Essex County Council; other agencies / individual schools may do things differently ).
