If my DS could get rid of the avoidable mistakes he would be absolutely flying! Speed has never been to much of an issue, but occasionally works against him. Normally a case of not reading the question properly, skipping over a small bit of very relevant information, or not checking an axis on a graph correctly. All the things that normally result in an ‘aaah’ when he looks at it again.
We get given his mock results and also the question papers when he has completed them, and these ‘errors’ probably cost him 3% maybe?! I have no issues with wrong answers, if he isn’t getting things wrong, he isn’t learning as Ive explained to him, but unfortunately little can be learned from ‘read the question properly’. Guess this 3% might be the trade off you have to accept for speed and finishing in good time.
