Hi my son is in year 6, and has applied to KES and has also achieved above the qualifying score. He has an EHCP and ASD and ADHD. He is currently schooled in a mainstream primary in a class of 25 students.
He is currently undergoing an Educational Psychologist’s assessment, who hasn’t yet given her recommendations for what kind of provision my son needs. But she has hinted a small independent school with SEN provision may suit him.
Question I have (after scrolling school sites/SEN policy/ofsted reports) is surely smaller grammar schools with smaller classroom sizes of around 17 could be as good a fit for my child as an independent school? It seems the SEN provision in some of the KE schools are brilliant, and comparable to the much more expensive independent schools?
Does anyone have any experience of SEN provision in grammar schools, are there ones you might recommend?
Thank you (feeling lost as EP assessment ongoing and not sure what to put on the preferences form)
