So sorry things have become so difficult. I understand the struggle as my DD has also had a rocky road.
The WISC V assessment has several sub tests within it that may be useful for guiding a SEN diagnosis but the overall result would confirm your DS’s academic ability. That would remove any doubt from the powers that be that he was right where he should be.
When my DD had a WISC V it was mentioned that the subset to do with working memory was generally harder for DC with ADHD. Processing issues in general could also be significant. Basically, high scores in one subset, offset by low scores in another will point to what further tests for SEN are required and suggest what accommodations are needed to allow DC to meet their potential.
